Job Placement

Graduates of the English Department have consistently obtained excellent positions in literature departments, both nationally and internationally. Under the leadership of a Placement Director, the English Department assists and advises graduate students during their job searches through regular placement meetings and workshops, a handbook containing guidelines for the job search, individual help with the preparation of job materials, and mock job interviews. This help is available to graduate students who are seeking employment within or outside academia, and is supplemented by the important resources available through UB's Career Services.
